????✨ Back from AutoSens 2025 ✨????
Returned from incredible days at AutoSens Europe 2025 in the vibrant city of Barcelona, and I’m still buzzing with inspiration!

Held at the stunning Palau de Congressos, this year’s event brought together over 500 engineers, innovators, and thought leaders from across the ADAS and autonomous vehicle ecosystem. From cutting-edge sensor demos to deep-dive technical panels, the conference was a masterclass in the future of mobility.
???? Highlights for me included:
- Insightful keynotes from leaders at BMW, Renault, Valeo, and OMNIVISION
- Hands-on demos showcasing the latest in sensor fusion, AI, and computer vision
- Engaging discussions on regulatory trends, safety challenges, and next-gen architectures
- And of course, the unbeatable networking opportunities—from coffee chats to evening receptions!
A huge thank you to the organizers (Sara Sargent, Kayleigh Pearson, Richard Powell, Carl Anthony and Hayley Sarson) and everyone I had the pleasure of connecting with. Thanks also my colleagues Stefan Peichl and Javier Fernández Lorente.
Events like this remind me why I’m passionate about this industry.
????️ Special thanks for the two keynotes:
- Martin Punke: “10 Years of AutoSens – Perspectives from a Global Automotive Tier1″f
- Pedro Almeida (Volkswagen) and Sharath Reddy (Magna): “Make It Simple: In-Cabin Monitoring with Fully Integrated Interior Mirror Camera”

???? Key Takeaways:
- Smarter Sensors, Smarter Cars: The evolution of LiDAR, radar, and thermal imaging is accelerating. We saw impressive demos of sensor fusion systems that are more compact, cost-effective, and robust than ever before
- Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS): With EuroNCAP and NHTSA pushing for “eyes-off” detection by 2026, DMS is no longer optional—it’s essential. The integration of AI for real-time driver behavior analysis is a game-changer
- Digital Coexistence: A shift from “digital transformation” to “digital coexistence” is reshaping how we think about in-vehicle tech. Balancing innovation with privacy and safety is now at the forefront
- External Audio & Communication: New systems allow vehicles to interact with their environment—whether it’s playing music outside the car or using directional audio to communicate with pedestrians
- Mobility Drones & Urban Air Mobility: While still early-stage, personal mobility drones were a hot topic. Their potential to disrupt urban transport is real, and OEMs are starting to take notice
